Customers of the Cayman Islands Postal Service can now download the Electronic Advanced Data Customs Declaration (EAD) app to complete electronic declarations or waybills electronically. The aim of the app is to increase the convenience of shipping internationally.
In addition to the app, customers are still able to complete waybills through the Postal Service website, www.caymanpost.gov.ky. Hand-written paper forms are no longer accepted at post office locations.
Through the modernisation of this process, the Cayman Islands Postal Service hopes to increase efficiency while effectively managing the sustainability of the services which they provide. The EAD Customs Declarations app is easy to use and can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play store.
Acting Postmaster General, Melissa Martinez-Ebanks, stated, “One of the benefits of the app is that it will allow customers to view the declarations they have previously submitted. They can save addresses shipped to frequently, making the process of shipping from the Cayman Islands that much easier. The EAD Customs Declarations app is just one of the ways that we are committed to maintaining our compliance with international standards while meeting our customers' needs.”
The Universal Postal Service partnered with the Postal Service to test and give feedback on the app when it was developed in 2021. The Cayman Islands Postal Service has provided an essential support to businesses and households across the Cayman Islands for over 100 years and is a trusted partner within the global postal network. The entity’s goal is to be their customers’ chosen provider for worldwide distribution solutions.
