Assault in George Town Sunday Night

Shortly before 9:00PM on Sunday, 19 May, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of an assault at an address on Snooze Lane, George Town. A man at the location had responded to a knock on the door. As the man opened the door, the person at the door, a masked male, swung at the man with an object suspected to be a machete. The man immediately closed the door and the culprit fled the scene. The man sustained a minor injury to his hand. He was taken for treatment and subsequently discharged.

The suspect is described as being about 5’7” tall, with slim build, and of brown complexion. He was wearing a dark hoodie and pants, and had a dark mask over his face.

The incident is currently under police investigation. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious persons or activity in or around Snooze Lane on Sunday night, or who may have any information about this incident, is asked to contact the George Town CID at 949-4222.
