At around 3:45PM, Monday 27 January, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG) received a report of a vessel in distress, in North Sound.

At around 4:00PM, CICG arrived at the location, in the vicinity of Stingray City, and observed an overturned vessel, and all six persons from the overturned vessel, onboard another private vessel in the area, called “Unstoppable”.

The six persons were returned to shore in good health and CICG righted the overturned vessel and towed it to Duck Pond dock, where it was secured.

The RCIPS Air Operations Unit was also dispatched to assist in the matter.

The CICG and RCIPS wish to thank the members of the public who assisted the persons aboard the vessel in distress.
