CIIPA CEO Sheree Ebanks takes up her post on IFAC development committee.
The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) appointed Ms. Sheree Ebanks to the Professional Accounting Organisation Development Committee (PAODC) effective 1 January 2020. The twelve-member committee is responsible for identifying and sharing PAO development best practices, providing guidance and leadership, and facilitating knowledge sharing.
Ms. Ebanks recently attended the committee’s first meeting of the year in New York, where the committee tackled challenges facing the profession including adaptability to fast-paced changes in technology.
Speaking of the experience, Ms. Ebanks said, “We are thrilled to be a part of the global conversation on the future of the profession and share CIIPA’s story with other developing PAOs. It is also an excellent opportunity for CIIPA to work in partnership with other international institutes to ensure the profession works toward sustainable development goals, capacity building and strengthening not only other professional organisations, but also working as a liaison to regional bodies.” She also noted that the profession is changing rapidly through the impact of new technologies and increased regulation. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Cayman Islands to participate with and learn from these international leaders of the profession”.
Ms. Ebanks brings a great deal of insight to the committee as the first CEO of the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and her role in overseeing the organisation’s transition from Society to Institute.
