The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises members of the public that there will be no garbage collection services on Christmas Day (observed), Monday, December 26, 2022 and the landfills will be closed.

Collections will resume and landfills reopen on Tuesday, December 27 (Boxing Day Observed), while, the landfill drop-off facility at the gate will remain accessible to the public and small vehicles 24 hours per day.

The public is also advised that the department’s offices will operate until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 23 & 30. Landfills in Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will close their gates at 1:00 p.m. on these dates.

Additionally, the reception of derelict vehicles and bulk loads of scrap metal will be temporarily suspended from December 24 to 27 and again from December 31 to January 2, 2023.
