The National Roads Authority (NRA) has commenced the next phase of work along the East-West Arterial. Construction is now underway on the section from Poindexter Road and Hirst Road to widen the area from two lanes to four.
This comes as part of the continued effort to provide relief for congestion and improve commute times primarily during rush hour. This phase of the project began in February 2023 and is set to be completed by July of this year.
In addition to widening the roads, new streetlights are being installed in the area to further enhance visibility for motorists at night time.
The public is kindly reminded to travel along these areas with caution as workers complete this phase of the project. Motorists should observe the speed limit and slow down when driving through active road work zones in order to keep themselves, other motorists and crew workers safe.
The NRA thanks the public for their continued cooperation and caution.
