Just after 2AM on Thursday, 23 April, officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address in George Town, between a man and a woman who are known to each other.
The 26-year-old-man of George Town was arrested by the attending officers on suspicion of damage to property, at which time he attempted to escape custody and was stopped by the officers. He then proceeded to assault the officers while they made the arrest.
The man was charged today, Friday 24 April, with Damage to Property, Breach of Curfew and two (2) counts of Assaulting Police. He appeared in court today and was bailed with conditions to return at a later date.
