Governor Designate Jane Owen is scheduled to arrive in the Cayman Islands on Friday, April 21, where she will be officially welcomed by Members of Government at the Owen Roberts International Airport.
In keeping with tradition, Mrs. Owen will be sworn in at the House of Parliament on the same day. The swearing-in ceremony will be open to members of the public, who are expected to be seated by 1:30PM for a start time of 2:00PM.
In commenting on Mrs. Owen’s arrival, Premier Hon. Wayne Panton stated: “On behalf of the Government and the people of the Cayman Islands, I am delighted to extend a very warm welcome to the Governor Designate. We look forward to introducing her to each of our three beautiful islands and our wonderful, warm people. We plan to facilitate a smooth transition into her official duties and arrange for her to meet various Government, business and community leaders as she settles into her new role.”
