Just after 10:30AM, Saturday 18 April, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Pedro Castle Road. It was reported that a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist had taken place at the location.
The collision took place when a cyclist was travelling towards George Town along Shamrock Road when a black Kia Optima that was exiting the gas station in the area, pulled onto the roadway and struck the cyclist.
The ambulance attended the location and assisted the cyclist who had visible injuries on the scene. The cyclist was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
The matter is being investigated by the police.
