Mourant, a law firm-led professional services firm, is pleased to welcome Caymanian Kathy Gonzalez to their Cayman Islands team as an Articled Clerk, currently with the Finance and Corporate department.
Kathy recently completed her Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction in Legal Practice from Oxford Brookes University, prior to which, she received her LLB (Hons) in 2021 from the University of Liverpool.
Mourant's Articled Clerk Scheme is open to Caymanians who are about to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC), the Professional Practice Course (PPC) or the Bar Vocational Course (BVC). The scheme provides a dynamic and challenging experience, with training in all practice areas, a personal mentor for the duration of the Articles and the possibility of a rewarding career on completion.
Previous Articled Clerks include Adam Barrie, who joined Mourant in 2014 as a summer intern and entered the firms Articles of Clerkship scheme in 2017, was called to the Bar in 2019 after completing his Articles. Adam joined the firm's award-winning Litigation practice, and is currently on a one-year secondment in the Hong Kong office. He also completed a secondment with the prestigious Serle Court Chambers in London during his Articles.
Tracey Forbes, recent winner of the Cayman Connection Making Waves Awards in the Financial, Legal and Professional Services category, joined the firm in 2012 as an Articled Clerk and has continued to grow from strength to strength. Tracey was admitted as an Attorney in January 2014 and made the move to the Hong Kong office later that year where she has spent the last eight years, thriving as a banking and finance lawyer and playing a significant role in the business development of the office. She will return to the Cayman office as a Counsel in November this year.
