Her Excellency the Governor, Mrs. Jane Owen has issued a statement following a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on 30 January.

“On Tuesday, 30 January, the NSC met for its first meeting of 2024.

The committee discussed with concern recent murders and other violent incidents, and the importance of a coordinated strategy to combat and prosecute firearms offences.

The NSC fully supports the efforts of our RCIPS, led by Commissioner Kurt Walton, and our other law enforcement agencies as they work together to fight crime and ensure our home, these islands, remain safe for our families, our children and ourselves.”
