Native Caymanian filmmaker and screenwriter Frank E. Flowers brought his most recent creative work, One Love: The Bob Marley Story, home to Grand Cayman for a special private screening on Thursday, 15 February. The evening began with a meet and greet cocktail hour in Camana Bay, where local dignitaries including Cayman Islands Governor Mrs. Jane Owen and the Minister for Culture Honourable Dwayne Seymour met with Mr Flowers and his business partner Mr Terence Winter. Mr Winter is also a co-writer of the film. During the cocktail hour, Minister Seymour presented Mr Flowers with a special award for his career contributions to Caymanian and Caribbean culture through film. The award was crafted by fellow Caymanian artist, Horacio Esteban, using endemic gemstone Caymanite.

The Minister for Culture, Hon Dwayne Seymour, CCI, JP, MP said, “Frank E.’s work throughout his career has led him to become a household name here in the Cayman Islands. Now, as he marks another achievement for his work with “One Love”, the life story of beloved reggae legend Bob Marley, we have taken this moment to applaud him as a Ministry, a government, and a country.”

Co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism, guests walked the red carpet as they entered the Camana Bay Cinema and were seated in the largest theatre available. The movie follows the life and events of Bob Marley, from his rise to fame in the mid-1970s up until his death in 1981. It features Kingsley Ben-Adir as Marley, alongside Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley and James Norton as Chris Blackwell
