Police/Court

Just after 4:30 AM on 29 January, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of an alarm at a commercial premise located on North Church Street.

When the officers arrived, they observed that a jewellery store at the location was broken into, and on further investigation, it was confirmed that several jewellery items were stolen from the store. Officers searched the nearby area for the perpetrator(s) with negative results but recovered some of the stolen goods en route towards Rockhole.

This incident is being investigated by the police. Anyone with information pertaining to the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen items is encouraged to call 949-4222. The public is also being asked to inform the police if they happen to come in contact with anyone attempting to dispose of these items of jewellery. If you suspect that the jewellery items being sold have been stolen, then you are encouraged not to participate as this is an offence of handling stolen goods.
