South Church Street has now been cleared for public access.
Four persons remain in hospital being treated for what appears to serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They are considered to be stable at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking for anyone with information to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.

Just before 8PM, 16 October, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a two-vehicle collision on South Church Street in George Town. One vehicle had two occupants while the other had three. Emergency personnel are still on scene and South Church Street in the vicinity of Parsons Circle is currently closed as officers carry out on scene investigation.
The Cayman Islands Fire Service officers who attended the scene extricated the occupants of the vehicles and all parties involved have been transported to the hospital by ambulance. So far one man involved in the collision has been pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
This collision is being investigated by the police and South Church Street will remain closed through the night pending further investigations. Vehicular traffic heading north on South Church Street will be diverted through Memorial Avenue and those heading south will be diverted through Boilers Roads off Seafarers Way.
Officers are advising motorist to avoid this area if possible. The RCIPS apologises for any inconveniences caused.
