Just before 4PM yesterday, 29 October, a marked police vehicle was on patrol along Shamrock Road in Bodden Town when the officer had cause to make sudden stop due to another vehicle making a sudden manoeuvre. This resulted in the vehicle traveling behind the police vehicle colliding with the rear of the police vehicle.
The police officer was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. The driver of the initial vehicle failed to stop as per requirements of Section 73 of the Traffic Act (2023 Revision) which may constitute an offence under the same referred legislation. The vehicle is described as a White Honda Fit, with a male driver with a green high visibility shirt, and the vehicle was exiting a local shopping centre at the time of the collision.
