26, February 2025, The Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport, and Development (PAHITD), in collaboration with the Public Transport Unit (PTU), is warning the public about a scam involving a fraudulent bus pass scheme that is currently being circulated online.

This scheme is not part of any official government programme, and neither PAHITD, the Ministry of District Administration, nor the PTU has any knowledge of or affiliation with it.

Public Safety Advisory

To protect yourself from fraud:

  • Do not provide your personal or banking information to anyone claiming to represent this scheme.
  • Be cautious of unsolicited messages or emails offering government-related services or programmes.
  • Verify the authenticity of any programmes by contacting PAHITD, the Ministry of District Administration, or the PTU directly.
