Shortly after 9:00PM yesterday, 25 September, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a robbery on Shedden Road, just west of the intersection with Liberty Lane. Two women were outside of a business at the location when they were approached by an unknown man who brandished a handgun and demanded one of the women hand over her handbag. The man then fled on foot via Liberty Lane with the handbag, which contained personal items and a quantity of cash.
The suspect is described as being tall, of light complexion, with brown eyes, and was wearing a black hoodie with the lower half of his face also covered. He is said to have walked with a limp.
The matter is currently under police investigation and anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
