Shortly before 4.30PM, Sunday 29 September, whilst conducting traffic checks along Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Ocean Club, a Traffic and Road Policing officer observed an expired number plate on an approaching Silver Honda Fit.

The driver was instructed to stop. The driver attempted to discard a bag that was intercepted by the officer.

A search of the bag was conducted and a number of suspected illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash was identified and seized by the officer.

The woman, a 38 year-old of East End, was arrested for Possession of Ganja with Intent to Supply and Consumption of Ganja. A search was also conducted of the woman’s residence under the Misuse of Drugs Act, where further drugs were located and seized.

She was transported to the Cayman Islands Detention Centre where she was bailed pending further investigation.
