The Ministry of Tourism and Ports is aware of a trade union strike among port workers in the eastern United States, which is expected to cause delays of goods globally. After discussions with the two major shipping lines that operate ships between the United States and the Cayman Islands, transit of goods to the Cayman Islands is not expected to be impacted at this time as they are not union-affiliated entities.

The Port Authority of the Cayman Islands (PACI) is actively working with both companies and monitoring the situation. PACI will provide regular updates to Ministry if there are any changes or further implications for the Cayman Islands.
