Kicking off the 2023 Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge, Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson unveiled the new logo on Monday, 27 March. The launch event, held at the Government Administration Building, also recognised medallists from the 2022 Challenge and returning corporate sponsors.

This year’s events, scheduled to be held in April, will support the Cayman Islands Red Cross, LOUD Silent Voices, and United Against Bullying Foundation.

“We have some outstanding charities that we have identified – LOUD Silent Voices, the United Against Bullying Foundation and the Cayman Islands Red Cross – they all do amazing work in our community so it’s an honour and a privilege to be able to work with them and to support them through the 2023 DG’s 5K Challenge,” Mr. Manderson said. “I use my own health scare to tell people how important it is to get out and exercise, to eat right and take care of your heart. This is a great opportunity to do that; The 5K ticks all of those boxes so I encourage everyone to come out.”

Continuing the firm’s long-standing support of the DG’s 5K Challenge, platinum sponsor Appleby has returned as the main sponsor of the 2023 event.
