The National Heroes Day awards ceremony on Cayman Brac will now be held on Saturday, 19 March 2022, 1-3 p.m. at the Aston Rutty Civic Centre, the Protocol Office confirms.
In accordance with gathering limits established under COVID-19 regulations, the indoor ceremony will be by invitation only with mask wearing mandatory.
Attendees will include His Excellency the Governor, Martyn Roper; Premier, Hon. G. Wayne Panton; Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, Hon. Bernie Bush; Minister for Education, District Administration & Lands, Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Conolly and other members of Parliament as well as District Commissioner B. L. (Mark) Tibbetts. Awardees or those receiving an award on behalf of an awardee can be accompanied by one guest.
Under this year’s theme ‘Honouring Our Uniformed Services’, those being recognised in Cayman Brac will include members of the Royal Cayman Islands Police (and Special Constabulary), Cayman Islands Fire Service, Customs & Border Control (and Legacy Officers) and the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps.

The awards ceremony will be carried live on CIGTV and Government channels.
Dates and location for the Grand Cayman awards ceremonies will be announced in a separate release.
