Bus Shelters Post COVID-19 Messages

Covid 19

Boosted by a recent partnership among Rotary Central, local businesses and the Cayman Islands Government, simple but vital COVID-19 messages are now displayed in 22 prime bus shelter locations throughout Grand Cayman, where they can easily be viewed by the public.

Dr. Naude Dreyer of Rotary Central, who manages bus shelter signage, was overwhelmingly supportive of the initiative.

"Rotary Central is glad to assist the Government with this effort! We would also like to give a huge shout out to our other sponsors who have kindly donated space to support this campaign and get these important messages out. Stay home and stay safe, Cayman!"

Recognising the importance of ensuring the public is aware of the safety precautions everyone must follow, these businesses came together without hesitation to help these important messages reach those who may not, or cannot, be able to see or listen to them on other Government channels.

Being "Caymankind" is even more appreciated during these difficult times and the outpouring of community support is evident across our Islands, according to Christina Sanchez Lee, Director of Operations for KFC in the Cayman Islands.

"As we work together to stop the transmission of COVID-19 in our Cayman community, we are glad to assist the Government with this request to share public health and safety messages," she said.

The Cayman Islands Government thanks Rotary Central, Burger King, Café Del Sol, Cayman Turtle Centre, Engel and Völkers, Foster's, ITC Tile, KFC, Ocean Frontiers, and Thompson Quality Homes for their generous sponsorship.

"This initiative would not have been possible without them," said Lisa Parks, Government’s Head of Strategic Communications and Campaigns. “Stay safe Cayman – we are in this together!”
