The festive fun-run, consisting of 5k or 10k routes, is an annual favourite on the local community calendar, with over 380 participants taking part on December 13, 2020.
The run’s start and finish was at the Holiday Inn and saw many runners and walkers alike wearing Christmas hats and gear, as is tradition for the annual Jingle Bell Run.

“We were honored to host another year of the Jingle Bell run and were excited to see the turnout and money raised, considering the volatile year of 2020. We could not do this event without the generosity of our sponsors, for which we owe a huge amount of gratitude”, said CICC Executive Director Ania Milanowska.
Sponsors of the event including Maples Group, Insurance Managers Association of Cayman, Rawlinson & Hunter, EY and Lauren Nelson and Annick Pasquali, Walkers, Security Centre, Water Authority Cayman, Caribbean Insurance Practice, Baker Tilly and Genesis Trust. The event presented a variety of raffle prizes to participants, donated by local businesses.
The run culminated in a free breakfast for all participants and a visit from Santa, who delivered gifts to all the participating children. “As always, we want to also thank Santa for making the day even more special for the kids,” said Milanowska.
The event, which raised CI $22,000 will be used to provide funding for the ongoing shelter management and various support programmes for victims of domestic violence and their children, in need of a safe place free from domestic violence.
