On Friday 10 February, representatives from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) attended John Gray High School’s Career Fair.
The fair played host to many private sector businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, and community partners. Members of CIDOT’s Product Development Team had the opportunity to engage with students, learn about their interests, and showcase potential career paths in tourism.
The students enjoyed learning about Caymanian history and culture and were able to win prizes for correctly answering trivia questions.
“Educating high school students about tourism career paths is critical as we strive to develop a highly-skilled workforce and increase the percentage of Caymanians working in the tourism industry,” said Zorina McCoon, Tourism Development Coordinator. “With our borders fully reopened and several new hotel properties opening over the next few years, there are ample opportunities for Caymanians to enter and pursue a rewarding career in the tourism and hospitality industry.”
