The Honourable Johany Jay Ebanks, MP, Minister of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport, and Development, is pleased to announce the official handover of the newly constructed Bodden Town Church of God Multi-Purpose Hall to the Bodden Town Church of God. This significant milestone marks a key step in enhancing community resilience in the rapidly growing district of Bodden Town.
The state-of-the-art facility, which will serve as a vital hurricane shelter for residents, was officially handed over yesterday, 16 January 2025. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Premier, the Honourable Juliana O'Connor-Connolly, JP, MP, Deputy Premier, the Honourable Kenneth Bryan, MP, and Honourable Dwayne Seymour, Minister of Border Control, Labour and Culture, Honourable McKeeva Bush, Parliamentary Secretary, Honourable Heather Bodden, MP, Honourable Franz Manderson, Deputy Governor, officials from the Cayman Islands Government, project representatives from the private sector, Pastor Winston Rose and congregants of the Bodden Town Church of God. Prior to the completion of this facility, the Bodden Town Primary School served as the sole hurricane shelter in the area. This new multi-purpose hall provides a much needed and timely solution to the growing demand for safe and accessible shelters in the district.

The successful completion of this project highlights the importance of strong partnerships between the government and community organizations. The Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Iinfrastructure, Transport and Development extends sincere gratitude to the Public Works Department, all project stakeholders, and the residents of Bodden Town for their patience and support throughout the construction process.
