New Faces at Cayman Heart Fund

Cayman Heart Fund is pleased to introduce some new faces to the organization. Joining the team is Angelique Bodden our new Coordinator and Ailian Evans, Barrie Quappe and Teri Quappe our new Board Members.

 

Angelique Bodden is Caymanian native and a seasoned real estate professional with MOD Realty. Angelique has an extensive professional background in Finance and Management. She has been dedicated to Customer Service, Marketing and Sales for over a decade. She is also a certified Personal Trainer and is in the process of obtaining her Youth Fitness Trainer certification. Angelique is a mother of two amazing children and love working with children. She enjoys helping children to find themselves and one day hope to start a Gym that specializing in the Nutrition and Fitness of Children.

Ailian Evans was born in Manzanillo, Cuba. She moved to the Cayman Islands almost 15 years ago with her husband Sean. Ailian is a heart mom; her son Nolan passed away on January 25, 2018 at just 7 months old due to a Complex Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). Since Nolan’s passing Ailian, her husband and their daughter Ashlyn affectionately known as Team Nolan embarked on a mission to raise CHD awareness and funds for local families with CHD babies. In addition to being a heart mom, Ailian has been employed in the private banking industry for over 13 years and is currently employed as International Client Service Officer at EFG Bank (Cayman) Branch. Ailian’s larger and now annual initiatives are her very successful KIDFEST events and Heart Warriors & Angels Beach Walk held each February on CHD awareness week. Team Nolan has to date raised more than $46,000 in donations to the Cayman Heart Fund. In September of 2018 Ailian was awarded the Cayman Heart Fund Award in appreciation for Team Nolan’s outstanding effort and contribution.

Barrie Quappé is a Director/Consultant who helps owners of medical facilities meet and exceed the National Standards for healthcare facilities in the Cayman Islands. Before starting Cayman Healthcare Consulting, Barrie pioneered the role of Health Practice and Facility Inspector for the Department of Health Regulatory Services in the Cayman Islands Government and set policies and procedures in place for inspections of all healthcare facilities on our three islands. After a successful career as a cardiovascular specialist nurse, with experience in the United States and both local hospitals at the time, Barrie was an Analyst for the Complaints Commission (now the Ombudsman office) working on various investigations. Barrie now guides and encourages healthcare facility owners to update their policies and other requirements in the Health Practice Law, so they strive for excellence in their healthcare services. She has served on various medical-related boards such as the HSA and Nursing and Midwifery and loves to teach CPR classes with St. Mathews University. Barrie also has a thriving career in the entertainment industry, performing in ‘Sea ‘N B’ band, numerous theatre projects and is the Talk Show host on the television show “Cayman Now”.

Teri Quappé is a Sales Professional with the Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty company where she matches clients with their dream homes/business locations and more. She is also a film maker having achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Practical Film Making at MET Film School, London, UK and her current film has been accepted into 8 Film Festivals as it continues the global Festival circuit. Teri has a wide variety of experience including working as an EMT-B in Cayman and New York served as a United States Air Force – Transport Specialist, years of performance experience on stage in Cayman and abroad and has directed multiple stage shows and films. She is a former Youth Director for the Cayman Heart Fund and is a board member for the Zak Quappe Flight Scholarship. Teri is excited to serve as one of the Fund-Raising Events coordinator for Cayman Heart Fund.
