The Cayman Islands Public Library Service (CIPLS) is thrilled to announce the Local Authors Expo and Book Sale, an event that will shine a spotlight on Cayman’s incredible literary talent. Join us on Saturday, 7 December 2024, at the George Town Library from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for an inspiring and engaging celebration of local authors and their works. More Than 15 Authors to Inspire and Engage The event will feature over 15 talented authors, showcasing the richness of Caymanian storytelling. Among the celebrated authors attending are: • Dr. Roy Bodden, a respected historian and cultural advocate whose works capture the essence of Cayman’s heritage. • Karlene Stewart, a motivational writer known for her thought-provoking self-help books. • Suzy Soto, an author dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Cayman Islands through her storytelling. • Graham Morse, whose adventurous tales have captivated readers both locally and abroad. These authors, along with many others, will be on hand to share their stories, sign books, and engage with attendees. A Unique Experience for All Ages Visitors will be welcomed through the historic main entrance of the George Town Library on Edward Street, adding a touch of nostalgia to the experience. The Expo promises something for everyone: • Book signings and live readings from featured authors. • Books available for purchase, including new releases. • A children’s activity area with colouring pages, board games, and more to keep little ones entertained. • Refreshments, photo opportunities, and a prize raffle featuring a unique collection of local books.
