The much-anticipated "Christmas at the Castle" event is set to bring festive cheer back to Pedro St. James on Sunday, 10th December. This free outdoor celebration at the National Historic Site's Great Lawn is proudly presented by the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority (CINAA) and Pedro St. James (PSJ), marking the beginning of the 2023 holiday season.
Patrick Thompson, CINAA’s Director, extends a warm invitation: “Experience the holiday magic at Pedro St. James where history's elegance embraces the season's joy. We are delighted to offer a place of celebration and community, illuminated by the spirit of Christmas. It is an opportunity to forge unforgettable memories in an extraordinary setting.”
Families can look forward to a special appearance by Santa Claus for photo opportunities with the kids, along with a program of live music and dance. Local talents such as Erica Assai, Rashana Hydes, Oniel Duncan, Carlton Allen, and the Barbados Rock Band will perform holiday favorites, complemented by a performance from Radiance Dance Studio.
In the spirit of giving, a portion of the event’s proceeds will support Meals on Wheels in their mission to deliver hot meals to seniors and the disabled throughout the Cayman Islands, addressing social isolation and ensuring year-round nutrition.
The event is made possible by the generosity of sponsors including Tortuga Rum Company, Kirk Freeport, Custom Concepts, and local eateries such as Casa Mexican Kitchen and Union Grill, amongst others. They have contributed prizes for a raffle, promising a night of joyous entertainment for everyone.
"Christmas at the Castle is a celebration of 'Caymankind', embodying the essence of Christmas and providing an opportunity for community connection that is simply beyond compare,” adds Thompson.
