The Chief Medical Officer has provided the following update on the community positive cases that have been under investigation since Wednesday 8th September.

The admitted person is stable, with no symptoms of a respiratory illness. The two other community positives remain stable in isolation with no change in their health – one has mild symptoms of COVID-19 disease as before. Contact tracing has continued and fourteen further swabs have all returned negative results for SARS-CoV-2 since Friday’s reports.

The Public Health team continues to investigate any possible relations to those who are positive for the coronavirus. For the routine daily update, there have been 650 PCR tests for SARS-CoV-2 since Friday 10th September and of these there are 14 positive tests in travellers. An additional 514 vaccinations were provided on Friday, and of these 401 were first doses (bringing the total number of first does to 75% of the population of 71,106) and 113 were second doses completing the course (71% of the population). Additional PCR testing and vaccination clinics will take place at the North Side Health Centre tomorrow (Sunday, 12 September) from 2-5p.m. and at the East End Health Centre on Wednesday, 15 September, 5-8 p.m. Similar clinics are also planned for the Cayman Brac clinic, Aston Rutty Center Medical Wing, on 15 September, 9a.m. to 1p.m. and 22nd September, 9a.m. to 12p.m.
