COVID-19 Update for Sunday 11th October 2020

COVID-19 Update for Sunday 11th October 2020
12 October 2020, 05:47 AM
Covid 19

Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, reports that 620 swabs have been tested overnight for SARS-CoV-2 since yesterday’s press conference at 1pm on Saturday 11 October. None of these returned a positive result.

The majority of these results were in people who had come forward for testing as a result of concerns relating to the positive case of COVID-19 reported in a child attending Red Bay Primary School, and 116 of these were in children aged between one and 18 years old.

Most people used the emergency drive through facility at the Cayman Islands Hospital of the Health Services Authority. The CMO thanks go to the organisation of all those staff providing this urgent service and the public for their cooperation through the process.

The drive through COVID-19 testing facility will be open at the Cayman Islands Hospital again tomorrow between 7a.m. to 9.30a.m. Persons should wear a mask and make sure that photo identification is taken for everyone who would like to be tested (including children).
