Public Health has issued the COVID-19 Situational Report for Epidemiological, or Epi., Week 12 (20 – 26 March) tonight, Wednesday 30 March. During Epi. Week 12, there were a total of 266 new cases of COVID-19 reported by Public Health. This was 59 cases more than were reported in the previous Epi. Week (13 – 19 March).

Unfortunately, another patient died during Epi. Week 12 (20 – 26 March 2022). This death might be attributed to long COVID-19. The Cayman Islands has reported a total of 25 COVID-19 related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Officials noted that 1,179 tests were conducted in Epi. Week 12, 1,253 tests in Epi. Week 11 and 1,162 tests in Epi. Week 10.

During Epi. Week 12, there were seven hospital inpatients going through the Health Services Authority in the Cayman Islands (no admissions to Health City Cayman Islands). This is approximately half of hospital inpatients from the previous week.
