COVID-19 Update 12 October 2021
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that as of 8a.m. Tuesday, 12 October, there have been 486 PCR tests since the last report on Monday, 11 October.
Of these, there is a total of 13 positive tests comprising five positive tests in travellers and eight positive tests from the community, which include five children.
To date, there have been 109,302 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 55,654 (78% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 53,115 (75%) have completed the two-dose course. Additionally, 533 (1%) have had a third or booster dose.
Of the total number vaccinated, there is the following age group breakdown for first doses of which 49% are female:
76% <18 years of age
82% 18 to <30
88% 30 to <40
94% 40 to <50
97% 50 to <60
99% 60 and over
