Crews work to contain a bush fire in Bodden Town
The Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) is currently on the scene of a large bush fire between the Agriculture Pavilion and Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town. The fire started this afternoon, and CIFS personnel were immediately deployed to contain and extinguish the blaze.
In response Chief Fire Officer, Randy Rankin said the crews are managing the situation to ensure the flames do not spread. “The officers responded quickly, and we wish to assure residents in the area and the wider public that CIFS crews will remain on the scene until the situation is fully resolved," Mr Rankin said.
The CIFS urges residents to remain vigilant and to follow any instructions provided by the emergency response teams. “The safety of the community is our top priority, and we are working tirelessly to completely extinguish the blaze,” Mr Rankin added.
The CIFS will provide updates as they become available.
