The Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) has confirmed that a number of Cuban migrants have departed the jurisdiction. CBC is currently in the process of confirming the exact number and identities of the migrants that have departed.
CBC wishes to remind the public that not all migrants are in detention; many have been released from detention and are living in Civic Centres or rented accommodation pending decisions on their asylum applications.
Migrants that are released from detention are not electronically monitored and thus must be identified, using alternative means, as having left the country.
The total number of migrants that have departed the jurisdiction will fluctuate, as migrants occasionally leave on different voyages.
