DEH Vegetation Collection moves from George Town to Bodden Town
The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) team will be moving into Bodden Town after completing the collection of vegetation debris in George Town on Saturday September 11, 2021. Residents are reminded that there will not be any extension and any vegetative waste that is put out after the scheduled dates will not be collected.
“We are now approaching week three of our island-wide vegetation collection schedule. Next week we will be servicing communities in the Bodden Town District. We want to continue encouraging residents to separate their waste and remember that this is a VEGETATION ONLY collection exercise. Be mindful the vegetative debris collected is being converted into mulch that can be used to replant trees and assist farmers,” said DEH Director Richard Simms.
The collection of vegetation waste in the Bodden Town District will commence on Monday September 13 to Saturday September 18, 2021. Vegetation debris can also be drop off to the temporary collection site at the Government Emergency Training Site on Anton Bodden Road.
Residents are asked to ONLY place vegetation debris on the curbside where it is easily accessible to the collection crews. Do not obstruct the roadway or storm drains or place household trash. Trim vegetation to lengths of 3 feet to enable an efficient collection. Alternative arrangements should be made to transport any other type of debris to the George Town landfill drop off.
