The Department of District Administration marked another successful installment of its “Annual Honouring Women's Month Tea Party" last week. Held at the Aston Rutty Centre in Cayman Brac, the tea party serves to celebrate Women's History Month by honouring the invaluable contributions of female civil and public servants in the Sister Islands.

For District Administration, this has become a cherished annual tradition, and plans are underway to expand its scope starting next year. The future editions will not only recognize current female civil servants but also extend gratitude to all retired female civil and public servants in the Sister Islands.

This year's theme, "Inspire Inclusion”, resonated throughout the event, which featured musical entertainment, gourmet teas, and insightful discussions. The highlight of the evening was a keynote speech delivered by Carol Baker, a former Head of Inclusion for Hope Academy. Mrs. Baker, renowned for her expertise in the field, shared inspiring anecdotes and emphasized the importance of fostering inclusivity in every aspect of life. Mrs. Carol Baker emphasized the significance of inclusion in community life. She remarked, "Inclusion is not just a buzzword; it's a fundamental value that enriches our society." This sentiment encapsulates the essence of her inspirational address, encouraging attendees to embrace diversity and foster inclusivity in every aspect of their lives.

Honorable Julianna O'Connor-Connolly, the Premier and Minister for District Administration and Lands, was in attendance and delivered special remarks. Reflecting on her own journey as a female civil servant in the Government, she expressed solidarity and support for all female civil servants, highlighting their indispensable role in shaping the community. Speaking about the event, Premier O'Connor-Connolly remarked, "It's heartening to see such a strong turnout at the Annual Honouring Women's Month Tea Party. This event is not just a celebration; it's a testament to the incredible contributions of women in public service. We stand together in solidarity, recognizing the vital role women play in building our communities."

Also in attendance was Mr. B.L. Mark Tibbetts, the District Commissioner of District Administration, who not only showed his support but also served as the event's emcee. Deputy District Commissioner, Chelsea Whittaker assisted in presenting prizes for the prize drawing, further adding to the event's festive atmosphere.
