The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) is pleased to announce the appointments of two employees: Mr. Gary Hendricks-Dominguez to Manager of National Promotions and Events and Ms. Tina O’Connor to Product Development Officer (Licensing and Inspections).
Gary brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, events, project, and strategic management to his new role. He has worked for organisations such as the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, Cayman Turtle Centre and Digicel. As Manager, National Promotions & Events, he is responsible for the department's national marketing, including local and community sponsorship, special events, domestic advertising & collateral, the travel trade FAM program and leading the Cayman Islands Latin America strategy.
Gary has spent the past 12 years with the CIDOT where he worked his way up through various roles. He was first employed as the Marketing Events Officer, then he was promoted to Marketing Communications Officer after which he served as the Events Marketing Supervisor.
Gary holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI), a Digital Marketing Certification from the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland, and an MBA in Marketing from Lynn University in Florida.
Tina has over 26 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Product Development Unit. In her new role, she is responsible for managing the tourist accommodation inspection and licensing process to meet the requirements of the Tourism Law and Tourism Regulations. Her duties also include researching, developing, implementing and managing new product development initiatives relating to improving the tourism product of the Cayman Islands.
Tina has spent the past 18 years with the CIDOT. She first began as a hotel inspector and then became Senior Hotel Inspector in 2017. Prior to joining the CIDOT, Tina was employed with The Westin as Director of Housekeeping. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the ICCI and recently completed her ILM certificate in Leadership and Management – Level 3.
