Shortly after 5:00AM on Thursday, 14 February, officers on patrol in George Town observed a Honda motorcar travelling at a high rate of speed along Walkers Road. The driver ignored officers’ signals to stop and continued on at high speed. The vehicle was located soon after, having come to a stop on Rock Hole Road and the occupants having fled. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and surrounding area and recovered several large garbage bags nearby, which contained a significant quantity of suspected ganja (estimated at over 400lbs).
Following the search, four men, ages 26, 30 and 41 of George Town, and age 31 of Bodden Town, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the importation of ganja.
