On 18 November, while conducting proactive patrols in George Town, RCIPS firearms officers identified a wanted man near the Government Administration Building on Elgin Avenue.
The officers approached the man, who brandished a knife and threatened them. In response, the officers drew their tasers and instructed the man to drop the knife. However the man fled on foot before officers could detain him. Officers pursued the man but lost sight of him in the vicinity of the passport office on Elgin Avenue.
No one was injured during the incident and the officers did not discharge any weapons. No members of the public at the Government Administration Building were placed in danger by the wanted man.
Police are currently continuing to make attempts to locate the wanted man, but are not publicly circulating his identity at this time.
