Nine days after the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) held a Multi-Agency Mass Migration Committee meeting to discuss the concerns of the recent developments in the Republic of Cuba and other regional countries, a vessel with four (4) male migrants arrived on Cayman Brac.

The meeting chaired by CBC Director Bruce Smith on Tuesday, 22 October 2024 was a proactive measure to discuss plans to mitigate and manage mass arrivals of irregular migrants.

On Thursday, 31 October at approximately 8:30am, reports of parts of a vessel were found on the shores of Cayman Brac. The four migrants are being processed with existing protocol measures by CBC Officers.
