Migrants Arrive in Spot Bay Cayman Brac

The Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) confirms that at approximately 10:00pm on 14 April 2022, a marine vessel with twelve male migrants ran aground in Spot Bay, Cayman Brac.

The vessel sustained some damage and the twelve men have disembarked. One migrant was treated at the Faith Hospital for exhaustion, but subsequently has been released.

All migrants are being temporarily held in quarantine in accordance with COVID-19 protocols and will transported to Grand Cayman once all reception formalities have been completed.
