The Ministry of Education (MOE) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for Local Scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships provide financial assistance to eligible Caymanians to pursue further education at accredited institutions within the Cayman Islands.

The application period opens on Saturday, 1 March 2025, and closes at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 30 April 2025. Successful applicants will be eligible to access funding for September 2025.

"The Ministry of Education is dedicated to supporting Caymanians in achieving academic success," stated Dr. Shari Smith, Manager of the MoE's Scholarship Secretariat Unit. "Local scholarships ensure that students have the opportunity to further their education and contribute meaningfully to the Cayman Islands."

The Local Scholarships programme covers tuition and study-related expenses for students pursuing higher education at accredited local tertiary institutions and those pursuing Post-Secondary studies (A-Levels, CAPE, IB, BTEC).

Funding is available for Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees programmes at accredited local institutions.
