Shortly before 5:20AM today, 12 December, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store located at the intersection of West Church Street and Town Hall Road in West Bay. It was reported that a masked man entered the store, brandished a firearm, made threats and demanded cash from the worker there. He then took the cash register tray and fled the location. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being about 6’2” in height, of slim build, and brown complexion. He was wearing a jacket, black sweatpants, a black mask and sneakers, and was carrying what appeared to be a silver handgun. He is also described as having a slouched posture.
Later this morning, following enquiries, officers arrested a man, age 34 of West Bay, at an address in Bodden Town on suspicion of robbery in relation to the incident. Officers also recovered a vehicle suspected to be connected to the incident.
A second man, age 28 of George Town, who was present at the address where the first man was arrested, has also been arrested in connection with other serious offenses, including burglary.
