Just after 8:35PM, on Tuesday 31 October, police were dispatched to Eastern Avenue where it was reported that a robbery had taken place near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Godfrey Nixon Way.
It was reported that a woman was standing outside the gas station located in that area of Eastern Avenue, when a man, described as slim build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches in height, and had what was believed to be a Caymanian Accent. He was said to be wearing a dark coloured hoodie when he approached her and demanded her handbag. The woman resisted and the man forced the handbag from her grasp, causing her minor injuries.
The man was believed to have left the location on foot heading in the direction of Washington Boulevard from Godfrey Nixon Way. The bag contained a quantity of cash and other personal items.
The incident is being investigated by police and detectives are asking for anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
