Patrick McKenzie, age 49 of West Bay, who was being sought by police in relation to a serious assault yesterday, 13 May, has been located and arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and assault. He remains in police custody as investigations continue. The RCIPS thanks the public for their assistance in locating him.
(RCIPS) - Just after 8AM today, Monday 13 May, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a serious assault incident that was said to have taken place at a residence located in the Mount Pleasant area of West Bay.
It was reported that a male who is known to the victim, entered the victim's residence and attacked her. The victim sustained several knife wounds and was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where she was treated and later released.
The man, who was identified as Patrick McKenzie, age 49, of West Bay, departed the location prior to the police arrival. Officers carried out searches in the surrounding area, however, he is yet to be located. Due to safety concerns for Mr. McKenzie, police are seeking the assistance of the public in locating him. This incident is being investigated by the RCIPS Protective Services and detectives are encouraging anyone with information, regarding the whereabouts of Mr. McKenzie, to call the 9-1-1 immediately.
