Police Recover 4lbs of Ganja Following Search of Derelict Vehicle

Shortly before 2:30PM 6 October, officers responded to a report that a member of the public had found a suspicious package at a location on Durham Drive in George Town, near a derelict vehicle. K-9 officers attended the location and recovered the package, which was found to contain suspected ganja. A further search of the location was conducted, during which the police canine directed officers to the trunk of another derelict vehicle at the location. The vehicle was subsequently searched and four additional packages containing suspected ganja were recovered, along with drug paraphernalia and other items.

In total, about 4lbs of suspected ganja was recovered. No arrests have yet been made in relation to the matter, which is currently under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
