This morning, Thursday, 30 May, RCIPS officers had cause to conduct a search of a residence off North West Point Road in West Bay, under the Firearms Act. During the search, officers recovered a bag containing suspected cocaine and a smaller bag containing ganja. The officers also recovered a backpack which contained a firearm and three firearm magazines: a standard magazine, an extended magazine, and a drum-style magazine, two of which contained ammunition.

Two persons, a man age 56 of West Bay, and a woman age 47 of George Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of an unlicensed firearm (ammunition). They remain in custody as investigations continue.
