On Saturday morning, 16 July, officers conducted a search of a residence on Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town. During the search officers recovered a loaded firearm, along with a quantity of ammunition. The officers also recovered several packages of ganja.
Three men at the location, ages 44, 26 and 27 of Bodden Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as drug offenses.
The 44-year-old man has been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and two counts of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition). He appeared in court this afternoon, and was remanded pending a further appearance on 21 July.
The other two men have been granted bail as investigations continue.
