Water Authority – Cayman wishes to advise its valuable customers that there is a broken water main which caused widespread pressure issues in its distribution network.
The broken water main, located on Shamrock Rd near the Savannah Meadows community, was discovered in the early morning hours. To reduce the impact on our customers in the area preparing for work or school, a decision was made to leave the water on. Unfortunately, the leak intensified which caused low water pressure for the district of George Town and the Savannah/Newlands area.
The Operations team has been dispatched and the location of the leak has been isolated. Repairs are expected to take 3 – 4 hours to complete and customers in the following areas will be without water during this time:
• Jayson Ave
• Destiny Ave
• Lavender Way
• Shamrock Rd (between Pedro Castle Rd and Lancelot Dr)
Traffic management measures are in place and the motoring public is asked to drive with caution.
