On Monday, 31 March, officers carried out a Day of Action in Cayman Brac focusing on drug and traffic offenses.

During the Day of Action, officers attended a property on Dennis Forster Road, Stake Bay, and conducted a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A nursery of ganja plants was discovered during the search, consisting of 13 pots and 90 plants. The plants were seized and destroyed, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Officers also responded to a report of a drug parcel which had been found at sea. The parcel, weighing approximately 23 pounds, was handed over to police for destruction.

The Day of Action also involved an island-wide traffic enforcement drive, during which officers conducted stop checks of dozens of motorists. Officers issued three traffic tickets and persons were warned for intended prosecution for eight other traffic offenses, for which they will be required to attend the next sitting of Cayman Brac Summary Court.

The Cayman Brac officers thank the community for their support and feedback received during the Day of Action, and encourage persons to get in touch with officers if they have any concerns regarding criminal activity that they would like to discuss or report.
